Where a crane’s festoons are most vulnerable
An unprotected cable festoon’s most vulnerable areas are:
- The surface area at the bottom of the long loops
- The upper surface when cables are stretched out
(horizontal surface for sparks/splash to land on) - The tops of the saddle sections
Custom trolley skirts
We also fabricate custom trolley skirts to protect the saddles from heat or damage at each of the saddle support locations, one of a festoon’s vulnerable areas. Trolley skirts are formed from the same Insulflex® high heat resistant fabrics as the festoon protection system.
